Spalding MFA Alumni Association

This is the official webpage of the alumni association.  We continue to update and revise to be as helpful and professional as possible.

Many thanks to the Homecoming 2010 committee of Bonnie Johnson, John Schuler, Vickie Weaver, Aimee Zaring, Erin Keane and Loreen Niewenhuis who did an amazing job.  All events were wonderful and well attended.  Molly Peacock gave a wonderful plenary presentation, Lori May was topical in her social media lecture and all of the genre lectures were superb.

The highlight of the homecoming weekend was the Celebration of Recently Published Books by Alumni, held in the Bluegrass Room at The Brown Hotel.  Authors, Amy Clark, Barry George, Richard Newman, Katerina Stoykova-Klemer, Joan Donaldson and Edie Hemingway read to a full house, then signed their books as alumni, staff and guests visited in the lovely surroundings.  To view photos from all events, start by clicking here or on the Homecoming 2010 link at the top of the page.

Click over to the newsletter page for in-depth pieces about alumni events and experiences.  The Homecoming 2010 issue of Soaring, our newsletter, has been posted so click on the link on the masthead above, or here and enjoy.  You can also go back and read previous issues, including the January-February 2010 and Homecoming 2009 issues by clicking here.

We also have a Facebook social networking page.

You can access by clicking on the adjacent link:

We welcome anyone who wishes to help with the alumni association.  Every member of this organizing group is a writer first, then an association volunteer.  If you have ideas, send them on.  We still need input from CNF, W4C and playwrights and screenwriters.

If you have a website and want others to know about it, send it on and we’ll post it.  The same goes for any useful writing resources or weblinks you’ve found.  If you have a book for sale, send us the link.

As you can see, the Spalding MFA in Writing alumni have a lot going on.  Check back often as we will continue to update as things develop.

Best,

Terry
